Minnesota does not use a separately elected county clerk for district court files. The local clerk function for Blue Earth County court records is Blue Earth County District Court Administration, part of the Minnesota Judicial Branch. The court page names Court Administrator Therese Kadrlik, and the county directory lists the same district court administration office for local phone, mail, and fax contact. That distinction matters because a request for a certified divorce decree, criminal order, civil judgment, probate order, or traffic case record should not be sent to a generic county clerk.

Court Administration works with case records from Blue Earth County District Court. It is the local place to ask about certified copies, missing or older files, civil judgment certified search results, public calendar questions, and court access issues that cannot be solved through Minnesota Court Records Online. It is also the right office when MCRO shows a case but does not provide the document needed for filing, licensing, employment review, appeal preparation, or another official purpose.

Blue Earth County Administration Duties

Blue Earth County Court Administration is tied to the District Court, not to county vital records. Blue Earth Records Request Fields

Blue Earth County court copy requests work best when the request identifies the court case and the exact record needed. The county data-practices policy is useful for non-court county data, but district court records are governed by the Judicial Branch and court-access rules. For court records, give Court Administration enough detail to locate the file without making staff guess between people with similar names or between several case categories.

For county executive-branch records outside the court file, Blue Earth County's Data Requests page and policy require written requests. The policy says a request should say it is made under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, describe the data, and state whether inspection, copies, or both are requested.

Blue Earth County says marriage records applied for locally are on file from 1865 to the present. Records before 1997 are public. Records after 1997 contain some confidential information and must be partially restricted before public viewing. The county's marriage records page and certified copy application list a $9 fee for each certified or non-certified copy requested by mail. Divorce records are different; dissolution files are District Court family records and certified divorce copies come from Court Administration.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit is the federal appellate court that reviews federal district court appeals from Minnesota, separate from local court administration.

That federal appellate source is useful only for federal cases; Blue Earth County certified district court copies still route through local District Court Administration.

Blue Earth Court Access Channels

Online access starts with MCRO for district court case search, document search, hearing search, and judgment search. MCRO is free and does not currently require registration, but it has limits. It does not certify records, it excludes some remote-access-restricted documents, and it blocks some pending criminal defendant-name results until conviction.
