Search Blue Earth County Court Records
Blue Earth County court records are searched through Minnesota Court Records Online, often called MCRO. The system is run by the Minnesota Judicial Branch and covers public District Court records across the state. For a local search, use the court-location filter and select Blue Earth. MCRO is the best first stop for case details, registers of actions, available public documents, hearing dates, and docketed money judgments.
The MCRO Case Search tab accepts name, business, case number, citation number, attorney name, and attorney license searches. Exact spellings matter. The MCRO FAQ says a trailing wildcard can be used after at least two characters, and the Sounds Like option can broaden a name search. Pending criminal cases may not appear by defendant-name search until conviction, so a case number, citation number, attorney search, or calendar search can be more reliable for those Blue Earth County court records.

Blue Earth County District Court
Blue Earth County District Court sits in Minnesota's Fifth Judicial District. It has original jurisdiction over civil, family, probate, juvenile, criminal, and traffic cases filed in Blue Earth County. The local working office for case files, certified copies, hearing questions, and calendar issues is Court Administrator / District Court Administration at the Blue Earth County Justice Center in Mankato.
The Justice Center is a key records hub because it houses the District Court, County Attorney, Sheriff's Office, jail, Community Corrections, civil processing, dispatch, investigations, and sheriff records. Blue Earth County Court System
Minnesota does not use a separate county court or justice-of-the-peace system for Blue Earth County. The trial court is District Court. City police, sheriff deputies, state agencies, and county departments may create the first report or citation, but contested traffic cases, criminal complaints, family cases, probate petitions, juvenile matters, and civil lawsuits route through District Court when they become court files.

Blue Earth County Court Calendar
The Blue Earth public court calendar is a searchable PDF, not a full case database. The court says it is posted at 7:00 a.m. each business day and updated hourly. It can show party name, hearing location, hearing date and time, judicial officer, hearing type, connection type, and case number. It does not include every matter handled by the court.

Blue Earth County Court Record Types
Blue Earth County court records include more than criminal cases. Civil files can cover lawsuits, evictions, harassment proceedings, collections, judgments, and conciliation matters. Blue Earth County Public Access Rules
Public access to Blue Earth County court records is controlled by Minnesota court rules and state data law. MCRO is the remote access tool, but remote access is narrower than courthouse access. Some public records may be available at a courthouse terminal or through court administration even when they are not posted online. Other records are sealed, confidential, or restricted by law.

Common limits include juvenile records, CHIPS cases, adoption records, sealed or expunged cases, civil commitment materials, some domestic abuse and harassment records before service, personal identifiers, and confidential marriage information in post-1997 local marriage records. MCRO may also show "Name Not Available Online" when a party name cannot be displayed remotely.
Blue Earth County Court Record Fees
The Minnesota Judicial Branch district court fee schedule controls many court copy costs. Court Administration, not MCRO, issues certified documents and certified judgment search results. County non-court data requests use Blue Earth County's data-practices process, which allows inspection without a fee and permits actual-cost copy charges.

Blue Earth County Criminal Records
Criminal court records and arrest-charge records are related but not identical. The County Attorney files criminal complaints and prosecutes felony and juvenile delinquency matters. The Adult Criminal Complaints Viewer gives recent charging documents, and the research notes that the county keeps records in that database for the previous two years, with older complaints available at the Justice Center. Full criminal case files live in District Court and MCRO.

Outcomes such as pleas, convictions, dismissals, sentencing, and probation violations belong in the full criminal case record.
For statewide public conviction-history data, Minnesota also provides the BCA Public Criminal History Search. That is not a substitute for the Blue Earth County District Court file because court records can include case events and documents that do not appear in a public conviction-history search.
Blue Earth County Warrants and Jail
The Sheriff's Office publishes an official Blue Earth County active warrants database. The county warrant page says the list covers warrants related to criminal matters in Blue Earth County District Court. It may not show sealed warrants, out-of-county warrants, federal warrants, juvenile warrants, or nonpublic investigative warrants. To report the location of a wanted person, the county directs people to call 911 or the Sheriff's Office at (507) 304-4800.
Sheriff Jeff Wersal's office and the county jail are based at the Justice Center. The jail roster is a public list of people received by, currently in, or very recently released from the county jail. Roster snippets can show name, age, booking date and time, charge, status, projected release date where applicable, and an inmate photo indicator. Jail administration phone is (507) 304-4830, while the jail lobby is open 24 hours a day.

Blue Earth County Family Records
Marriage records and divorce records use different offices. Blue Earth County marriage records applied for in the county are held by the License Center from 1865 to present. The county directs users to the Minnesota Official Marriage System for marriage searching and application starts, while certified or non-certified local marriage copies cost $9 each through the county process.
Divorce is called Dissolution of Marriage in Minnesota. Divorce files are District Court family case records, searched through MCRO or requested from District Court Administration. Minnesota requires at least one spouse to have lived in the state for 180 days, or kept Minnesota residence while serving in the armed forces, before filing. MCRO provides only certain court-prepared family documents online.
Probate cases use PR numbers and are handled by the probate jurisdiction of Blue Earth County District Court. Traffic cases are also District Court records. Payable citations can be searched or paid through Minnesota Court Web Payment, while contested citations and criminal traffic allegations move through court hearings and MCRO.
Blue Earth County Judgment Search
Judgment Search is separate from general case searching. It is used for docketed money judgments by debtor name. A civil case can end with many outcomes, but a docketed monetary judgment is the kind of record that belongs in this MCRO tool. Non-monetary case outcomes, such as a dissolution granted or a dismissal with prejudice, are found through case details and dispositions instead.

Blue Earth County Record Terms
Court records use terms that can be easy to misread. A charge is not the same thing as a conviction. A hearing type does not always state the outcome. A warrant flag may need follow-up because MCRO warns that an active warrant flag on party information may not pertain to the specific case being viewed.

Blue Earth County Court History
Blue Earth County was created in March 1853, while Minnesota was still a territory. County history says the county was later reduced to its present boundaries in 1856. The historic courthouse at 204 S. Fifth Street remains part of the county government landscape, but modern District Court operations are at the Justice Center on Carver Road.
Records access has changed as well. MCRO launched in phases from 2021 to 2022 and replaced Minnesota Public Access Remote, which became unavailable on April 17, 2023. Older instructions may still mention MPA Remote, but current Blue Earth County court records searches use MCRO and local District Court Administration.
